A woman kneeled before the Yasukuni Shrine, a bundle of pure white roses clasped loosely in her hands. Tears slid silently down her face from her grey eyes as she placed the roses down in front of her. "You were a brave warrior Jair..." she said quietly. "Even though you weren't recognized as one by any others you were one to me. I'm sorry I couldn't help you..."
A white wolf appeared next to her, laying down with its head held high. I know you miss him.. it said telepathically in a feminine voice. But there are things that eventually must be let go if you wish to move on in life.
The woman shook her head, strands of her long black hair hanging in her face. "I can't forget him Shay. When my time comes, before I can rest peacefully I need to know that the one that was resposible for his death has felt my pain."
The wolf sighed but remained silent.

"I failed him..." the woman said suddenly. "I failed him Shay. I was there, I saw what was happening but I did nothing to help."
The wolf spirit sighed again. There was nothing you could have done. Sheoe was the only spirit present in that area, as hard as that may be to believe, and I was already in a weakened state. You know you draw your powers from the spirits around you. Here for example, what do you feel?
"Many beings that hold divine power," said the woman quietly. "That are willingly letting me tap into it."
Exactly! Here many spirits wander, and they understand the call for battle, the call to fight. Where you and Jair battled Sheoe there were none like this. Jair may have not needed spirits to use his power but you do, Rui.

"I know, but I can use some powers while the spirits are not allowing me their's..." Rui replied quietly.
Shiara shook her head frantically. Your fury form as you call it, you know full well you cannot control those powers. If you used them against Sheoe while Jair was fighting, YOU could have been the one that killed him.
Tears began to run down the woman's cheeks again. "I'm worthless! I can't even defend the ones I love!" she cried out. "What good is it to speak with the dead if I can't even speak with my parents, or Jair?"

Shiara sighed, her ears drooping slightly. You know... I would do anything to be given another chance at life, she said. You should be living your life to its full, not dwelling in your emotions. You can die from heartbreak Rui, break out of its spell.
Rui glanced at the wolf and flung her arms around the spirit's neck. "Thank you Shay," she said quietly. This would be rather amusing if someone without spiritual powers walked by, as it would look like she was hugging thin air.

Yeah, well... anything to stop you from jumping off a building the wolf spirit replied, pulling away from Rui's embrace and shaking herself to fluff out her fur again. So, where to now? I say somewhere that's rather populated. I want to make a few people jump.
Rui laughed. "Alright then, what do you say to tea at Tokyo Tower?"
Shiara shrugged. You're the one that's drinking it, not me.

"Well then, lets go Shiara-san!" said Rui happily, sprinting towards the large tower situated in the center of Tokyo.
The wolf spirit blinked. Yeah, we live in Tokyo and yet that was the very first time I heard you call me 'Shiara-san'... she commented to herself, sprinting after her friend with large flowing leaps, what looked like light streaming from her paws.
